Dragon Ball Super: Beerus revisits Goku’s first clash with the God of Destruction, adding redrawn scenes and a reworked story. Is this version worth revisiting?

Dragon Ball Super: Beerus Airs First Episode

Dragon Ball Super: Beerus returns to the moment Goku first faced a God of Destruction. This new edition revisits the opening story with newly added and redrawn scenes and a reworked narrative intended to follow Akira Toriyama’s manga more closely.

The first episode has premiered, giving fans an early look at what has changed. I want to see whether this new version improves on the controversial art and animation that drew criticism during Dragon Ball Super’s early episodes.

What Is Dragon Ball Super: Beerus About?

Several years after the defeat of Majin Buu, Goku returns to a peaceful life on Earth. Beerus, the God of Destruction, wakes from a long sleep and seeks Goku after hearing he defeated Frieza. Their meeting puts Earth at risk and begins a battle between Goku and the strongest being in the universe.

Reports say the enhanced series will run for 19 episodes, covering the Beerus arc, Resurrection ‘F’ and the Universe 6 tournament, where Goku’s team faces fighters from Champa’s universe. Toei has confirmed a reconstructed story with new and redrawn scenes, but has not published an official episode count or full arc schedule.

Why Fans Should Still Watch Dragon Ball Super: Beerus

Fans have already seen Beerus’s arrival in Battle of Gods, Frieza’s return in Resurrection ‘F’, and both stories retold in the early episodes of Dragon Ball Super. The new edition revisits them with redrawn scenes, re-rendered footage, new voice recordings, updated music and sound effects, and a reconstructed story.

I want to see whether these changes improve the controversial art and animation of Super’s early episodes. If they do, familiar fights like Goku’s first battle with Beerus could be worth watching again.
